White pu-erh (Bai Pu-erh) is the buds that are harvested from old pu-erh trees in Yunnan province, and are prepared using a technology close to that of white tea.
You can often find pressed pancakes of white pu-erh, but there are also loose ones on sale.
We recommend trying these white pu-erhs: Yu Ya Pu-erh, Bai Hao Bing pu-erh.
White pu-erh today is a frequent object of reasoning and controversy. In particular, is it worth it to separate it into a separate subcategory of tea. There are several ways to classify white pu-erh. In one of them, white pu-erh is a separate group, in another, it is referred to as shen pu-erh, and others call this type of tea Yabao (winter bud). One way or another, all these theories are united by the fact that white pu-erh is ready for aging for years. And with age, its value increases.
In terms of its effect, white pu-erh is close to shu and shen pu-erh. The taste of bai pu-erh is very different from both pu-erh and white teas. This tea has a bright deep taste with notes of herbs, a long voluminous aftertaste of dried fruits and a fresh light aroma.
White pu-erh is highly valued for its antioxidant properties.
