Ku Gua Lao Cha Wan – Aged Pumpkin Oolong Ku Gua Lao Cha Wan is an elite oolong, prepared using a relatively new original technology by Fujian tea masters. Its production is based on the traditional method of making oolongs – teas that possess a variety of taste nuances, exquisite aromas, and abundance of states cherished by their enthusiasts. However, unlike the usual method of processing aged oolongs (sealed in ceramic vessels at fixed temperature and humidity), Lao Cha Wan, for final processing, is placed in the shell of Ku Gua fruits.

Ku Gua, or Momordica charantia, is a vine, a popular tropical Asian vegetable with bitter fruits. Traditionally, this vegetable has been used in Chinese cuisine and medicine.

Nowadays, the benefits and taste nuances of this fruit are also utilized in the tea industry. To create Ku Gua Lao Cha Wan, the pulp of the fruit is removed, and the tea is placed inside the raw fruit shell. Now the juice of Ku Gua can properly blend with the tea ingredients and enrich it. After three years of joint aging under optimal temperature and humidity conditions, a tea is born that combines the power of the Old Master of Oolongs and the natural qualities of Ku Gua vine fruits.
