This is the oldest type of red (black) tea. Has several different names: Zhen Shan Xiao Zhong, Lobsang Souchong, smoked red tea.
Produced only in Fujian Province, in the Tong Mu Shan Nature Reserve. In the production of this tea, there are characteristic features that affect its taste and aroma:
- The withering and final drying operations are carried out using heating on special coals made from local coniferous wood, which gives the aroma and taste a characteristic hint of smoked meat.
- In the technology of processing tea raw materials, a special fast but high-temperature heating is used, which is called the “red cauldron” – from this, during tea drinking, a pleasant warmth is felt in the body.
- For this tea, young but already mature leaves are used, there are no buds and pile in the raw material – this gives a special effect on the body of such tea.
