Description

Addition to tea: Snow Chrysanthemum from Kunlun Mountain.

In the late 20th century, Uyghur shepherds from the vicinity of Karakorum discovered yellow flowers in the snowy areas of Kunlun Mountain. The flowers grew on icy peaks and steep slopes of Kunlun Mountain at an altitude of over 3000 meters.

The shepherds decided to gather some flowers. At home, they dried the flowers and brewed them. The infusion turned out to be a bright red color with a pleasant aroma, invigorating the soul. The local people called these wonderful yellow flowers “guli cha er,” which in Uyghur means flower tea. Rumors about the miraculous power of the yellow flowers began to spread throughout the region; locals presented them as a sacred gift to the most esteemed guests. Gradually, rumors about the flower reached Urumqi, and then Beijing, Shanghai, and other parts of the country.

The flower is also called the Snow Chrysanthemum from Kunlun Mountain, and also “Blood Chrysanthemum from Kunlun Mountain” because if the golden flowers are poured with boiling water, the infusion acquires a dark red amber color.

It’s like drinking a super medicine, but it doesn’t repel; on the contrary, it attracts.

The simplest preparation method in a lidded glass:

One of the unusual but pleasant ways is to pour cold water over the flowers and steep for 8-12 hours. The infusion can be stored in the refrigerator. This drink is wonderfully refreshing in the heat.

  1. Take a glass and rinse it with boiling water.
  2. Add tea at a ratio of 2-3 grams per 250 ml.
  3. Warm the tea: pour in 1/4 of the glass and immediately pour it out, holding the lid on the tea.
  4. Pour boiling water at 70-85°C and steep for 2-3 minutes.
  5. Drink. You can make another 2-3 infusions. Enjoy your tea!

Here are some of the most important properties of chrysanthemum flowers:

  • Calming effect
  • Anti-aging, helps maintain youthfulness
  • Improves skin condition
  • Enhances overall well-being
  • Lowers blood pressure
  • Reduces hangover effects
